Urban Plants
The tenacity of nature softens the hard edges of the cityscapes we
live with in. Refuting the
lack of soil, the grinding machines drowning the silent birth budding in its
presence. It pushes through the concrete, around the metal and even escapes the
hand of the gardener to grow into its own unique expression of life.
Here I offer my noticing of the joy nature brings to the mundane and
everyday concrete experience.
Whether it is seen or unnoticed it thrives and celebrates the sun, the
rain, the very breath of air we exhale.
All of these photos have been taken within the bounds of a city or
town in Oregon, capturing my eye and asking to be noticed. It is my pleasure and honor to see them
and share them with you.

Spring water
The
rush of spring filled Opal creek when I was visiting this week. The beat
of water against the rocks pounding out the heart of earth softened the edges
of my busy days, washing away the clutter of daily life, like the rocks drop by
drop it exposed the important stone.
Now as I walk the concrete path of the city the wild waters follow me, reminds
me, cushions my thoughts and my knees.

Mission accomplished

One of my favorite things about developing long-term
relationships with clients is getting to see how the design we accomplished
together, endures over time. Just recently I received a call and went to
look at a bath remodel in Milwaukee.
He was concerned about a minor issue, I was glad to have the opportunity
to solve the concern and see how things where progressing. It turns out the tub has enhanced his
bathing experience, raising the counter height has improved his back fitness,
and the overall sophistication of the bath has created a new feeling of
self-care. Mission accomplished! Soon I will be returning for
professional photos, until then…
